The Weird is a six-piece indie rock band out of the Boulder/Denver area. Founded in early 2017 by Emily and Stewart as an acoustic duo, they both knew there was more potential the more comfortable they became as writers. Adding the rest of the band (Nick - drums, Chris - guitar, Rachael - keys, Matt - bass) in the summer of 2018, they hit the ground running playing as many shows as humanly possible because nothing gets these maniacs going more than being able to share a live music experience with their awesomely weirdo fans. https://theweird.band
Stereotype Drive: Featuring soaring guitar solos, catchy melodies and a punishing downbeat, Stereotype Drive is a four-piece rock band that unapologetically calls back to the glory days of Rock 'n Roll.

Quinn DeVeaux spent his early childhood living with his grandmother, a former jazz singer, twenty-five miles outside of Chicago in Gary, Indiana. The birthplace of the Jackson 5 had long since slipped into post-industrial economic decline and the ambitious DeVeaux, while still a teenager, headed west with just a guitar and a golden voice. Eventually he found his way to San Francisco, CA where he was a founding member of the Blue Roots, a short-lived but near mythic group that operated out of the Mission District at the turn of the millennium. Alongside DeVeaux, the group included Lech Wierzynski and Nansamba Ssensalo, the pair who would go on to form the California
Honeydrops, and bassist Nate Brenner of the Tune-Yards. Quinn would release a string of well regarded albums in the ensuing years, garnering accolades from the Bay Area music press and gathering fans on the dance floors at his high energy and “joyous” live shows. Rock critic Ian S. Port praised DeVeaux for “distill[ing] decades of American blues, country, soul, and gospel into a funky sound that feels as authentic as it does
refreshing.”

Old School Hype:
Old School Hype is a Denver-based group of three males in their twenties who look just past puberty. Their interests include playing heavy riff-based rock, sleeping, and impressing the elderly with their knowledge of 60s and 70s rock and roll. Their turn-offs include writing band biographies and being asked if they have ever considered competing on America’s Got Talent. Alex (Drums), Skyler (Bass), and Caleb (Guitar) have been playing together for over half a decade and all three members sing in addition to jamming excessively hard. http://oldschoolhype.bandcamp.com
Granny Tweed (Denver):
Granny Tweed's sound delves into surf, punk, alt-country and instrumental rock. Granny believes there is no high or low brow....it's all art and it will rock one way or another.
Forest Ray (Seattle):
https://open.spotify.com/artist/6aHS1ijoQqNunPy8K2zzAp
"Forest Ray experiments in the analog and psychedelic, combining guitar driven psychedelic rock with elements of raw synth-laced post-punk and organ laden pop. The group's uninhibited performances and analog recording process have harbored darker, older and more intimate recordings. On tour with their split record with Lasso Spells out in March on Cold Lunch Recordings (Nashville)"

Woodhouse (roots rock/blues): Woodhouse is the most recent aural incarnation from Ian Kueht, Jake Woodhouse, and Eric Gehringer that all started in the rolling hills of Elizabeth, Colorado. Taking their rural upbringing into the city, they joined forces with Marc, Jon, and Michael to give their audience a gargantuan, guitar heavy sound that yields to no one.
Woodhouse tries to conjure a past life where the times were simpler and all you needed was a loud guitar, dirt in your fingernails, a three-finger whiskey in one hand, and a fine woman in the other.

“Planet What, a punk, grunge, surf rock band fronted by two ladies straight out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kylie Slabby and Jeanette Derubeis are the punk rock matriarchs of the 21st century. "Like all of the great rock and roll trios in history, Serpentfoot manage to create tunes that seem so much bigger and grander than what you would think just three people are capable of. Marrying heavy and probably drug induced aural kilos of psych-rock a la the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the artsy proto-punk sneer of bands like Television and the Sonics is already a recipe for beautiful disaster. Easily. But the ‘foot doesn’t stop there; they then decide to add heapin’ helpin’s of noodly 60’s era surf and garage rock into the cake they’re baking, turning the whole mess of a into a new album and band that is so damn good you’ll need the recipe." - Pulp Magazine

Teacup Gorilla (dark indie): Teacup Gorilla inhabits the venues of Denver, CO with dark indie-rock soundscapes and evocative poetry — often compared to early Modest Mouse and Low. Daniel, Sondra, and Miriam have been playing together over fifteen years, across a wide range of projects. In the summer of 2015 they released Teacup Gorilla’s debut EP, The Holes They Leave, along with the multimedia novel Riding SideSaddle*.
Married a Dead Man: Married a Dead Man formed in July 2016 from the remnants of hardcore band OK Holiday, where Jaime (drums) and Gwyneth (guitar) decided to form their own female based goth-influenced project. Veteran bassist Travis was added a few weeks later. Black clad kindred spirits, Megan (vocals and keyboards) and Jaime met volunteering for Girls Rock Denver, a non-profit organization that empowers young girls through music.
Brought together by disparate influences, the band creates an eclectic mix of goth, shoegaze and dark-wave, culminating a unique Denver-based sound.

Brett Newski has certainly kicked his own ass over the past 6 years, touring infinitely (mostly alone) and wandering down the rabbit hole of anxiety, depression, and wallowing self-doubt. All of these negatives have blossomed into positive creative energy on his third LP.
"Anxiety can actually be a good thing. If you use it right, that nervous energy can be channeled into motivation or creativity," explains Newski. "Even the most seemingly confident people have self doubt."
Produced by Hutch Harris of Sub-Pop & Saddle Creek legends The Thermals and engineered by Beau Sorenson (Death Cab for Cutie, Superchunk, Bob Mould), Life Upside Down is a beautiful catharsis to a happier brain and sense of belonging. If you frequently find yourself stuck in your own head traffic, this record might help get you free.
